Dive Girl is a UK based magazine about women who dive.
Our aim is to produce a magazine and web site that amuses and inspires divers everywhere and despite the name, we know the boys won't be able to keep their mits off it. Dive Girl is about anything that promotes women, encourages women and demystifies the stuff the boys get up to.

Welcome to Issue 7

Did you miss us?

It's been too long! After many adventures and numerous diving expeditions, the Dive Girls are back. Late, of course, but then we do like to make a dramatic entrance. This time we're in excellent company. We've joined forces with the UK's best-selling, longest-running, and most widely respected magazine: DIVER.
Will this mean we lose our wild, anarchistic and irreverent edge? Check out the contents of this issue and judge for yourself.

Shop for freedom

The world is in shock after the terrorist attacks on the US. Airlines are in crisis as people refuse to travel. Recession is approaching as people have stopped spending. Get a grip!
Second to diving, shopping and travel are two of the greatest pleasures in life. Spend, spend, spend! It's the best way to beat the terrorist blues. At Dive Girl, we have always understood that the freedom to shop is what makes this society tick. So throw caution to the winds and stick a gag on your bank manager - with a bit of retail therapy, we'll soon have this crisis shopaholicked.
The world of diving is being transformed by the huge numbers of women who are taking up the sport - much to the disgust of ScubaGIT on page 11. It's now possible to get designer dive threads, gorgeous dive jewellery, fabulous custom-made wet and drysuits, even funky neoprene shoes. It's clear that women - and their credit cards - have made a big impact on the world of scuba diving. So take advantage and treat yourself.

fear of flying? No way!

The diving holiday agents are looking gloomy because those rufty tufty diver types look like they're too scared to fly anywhere. Well, we say get on that plane, take that holiday, and enjoy life to the full.
Here at Dive Girl, we're looking forward to a diving project in the fabulous Blue Hole at Dahab in the Red Sea and nothing - save a severe shortage of nail varnish - is going to stop us having a great time.
With so many new and exotic diving destinations opening up, the choice has never been better. Our hot tip for 2002 is the laid-back and romantic island of Bali. With fantastic dive sites being discovered and a superb range of hotels (complete with spa facilities) it's perfect for a dive girl looking a spot of pampering after a day's diving.
Divers are, by nature, adventurous spirits. After all, the sea is full of dangers.
That's exactly what makes it such an interesting place. Defy the doom-merchants and go for it - there's a lot of diving out there to be done.
